Fracturing Objects in C4D with Thrausi
In this tutorial I show you a cool technique for fracturing text with a free plugin called Thrausi. This is probably the best fracture plugin out there, and the possibilities with it are endless!

You should show the finished product of the animation at the beginning of the tutorial so viewers can see what it looks like and if they think they will enjoy it. just a thought.

Great idea Neth, I will have to keep that in mind so I don’t waste people’s time if the final product is something they already know how to do. Hey, at least my tuts are short so I don’t waste too much of your time, right!

Hi Joren,
Was wondering when you set the Random eff-r Pos X, Y & Z to 100 each, the broken pieces go further out as they should do, but when I pull back on my Effector slider from 100% down to 0% (so that the pieces make up the word without cracks)…the letter pieces all move out of sync and bounce off each other….am I doing something wrong or what? Do I need to apply Linear damping or Follow position? pls help! cheers!

Hey Matt, I’m not sure what’s going on! Any chance you could e-mail me your project file so I can take a look quick and see if I can figure it out? joren@thepixellab.net

Hey Greg, I’m not totally sure what’s going on. You have to have dynamics tags on your pieces that you fractured, but also have a dynamics tag on your ground plane or floor. Do you have that set up? You can shoot me an e-mail with the file if you want me to take a look, I’m not really sure what’s going on!
