Today’s freebie comes from Jason Bass of monolithcreative.com. Jason made a very cool, modern building and wants to share it with the community.
The Design Architect of this building isĀ Michael Rantilla AIA LEEDĀ mrantilla@FREELON.COM
The photos are of his Vray version. He is offering a regular C4D renderer version with simpler textures, as well as a version that is untextured, in the hopes that you would use it as a personal project to practice your texturing. If you have any questions on his vray version or where he got his textures, I’m sure he would be willing to help you out. Contact him at jason@monolithcreative.com
Also, makes sure to check out Jason’s social media magazine at glassrhino.com
Thanks Jason!

Can some one tell me how did he create the grass so cool
it’s a small patch of hair that was converted to an object then i used the vray proxy generator inside of a cloner set to the surface of the terrain with a subtle random effector for scale and rotation.
here’s another shot:

Wow, thanks a lot for sharing! I wish you could also make a tutorial for this awesome model!
you’re very welcome. unfortunately, I don’t think a tutorial on the construction would have much substance! it’s composed primarily of cubes that are sized and placed using precise (as precise as I could get) coordinates. that’s about it! using actual measurements in inches helped a lot instead of eyeballing it.
Wonderful scene and really nice to learn from.
