Displacing a Sphere: A cautionary tale
Displacing a Sphere: A cautionary tale
Please make sure to keep checking back to this site. I have big plans for the future, including giving away freebies, free training, tutorials, showing how I deal with clients and projects, talking about current industry trends, and giving advice for your motion graphics career. I want this to become a community where we can all learn from each other and enjoy hanging out. Looking forward to it!
We have finally done it! The Pixel Lab “Earth and Globes Pack” is now available for After Effects Element3D! We’ve created over 40 earth, globe and solar models. We have everything from realistic and high poly to stylized and low poly and everything in between. Artistic, stylized, lego, minecraft, cloud scenes, solar systems: we have a bit of everything for everybody! These are prepared specifically for After Effects Videocopilot Element3D and will work in the latest version, V2.2. If you’re looking for the Cinema4D version, you can find that here.
I’m extremely excited to introduce The Pixel Lab “Financial Pack!” I’ve collaborated on this project with David Biederbeck of beckmotion.com and Remco over at remmac3d.blogspot.com. We’ve created a huge pack with 20 financial themed models created for Videocopilot Element 3D. They are textured and prepped for Element so you can use them instantly in After Effects. I really hope this pack will be helpful to you!
Please note: we have excluded the 1 bank interior scene from this pack. Because of the high poly count they were not able to be prepared in Element 3D.
The models are Element 3D ready. All you have to do is unzip the file, drag the folder into your documents/videocopilot/models/My_Models folder and they will be ready to use. Many of these models are worth well over $30 individually so we have again provided a great deal in the hopes of making this affordable for everyone! If you have any questions about the pack, please e-mail me at: [email protected]
This pack includes:
We tried to match the C4D lighting/texturing as best we could, but because of the different texture and render engines they are not exactly the same. Here are screengrabs from Element to show you the models in the interface before they are lit.

I’m extremely excited to introduce The Pixel Lab “Music Pack” in Videocopilot Element 3D format! I’ve collaborated on this project with my buddy Remco, Rob Redman and David Biederbeck. We’ve created a great pack with over 20 musical themed models that are textured and prepped to be used in Videocopilot Element 3D!
I’m extremely excited to introduce The Pixel Lab “Video Production Pack” in Videocopilot Element 3D format! I’ve collaborated on this project with my buddy Remco and David Biederbeck. We’ve created a great pack with 16 video production themed models that are textured and prepped to be used in Videocopilot Element 3D! I really hope this pack will be helpful to you!
Please note: we have excluded the 4 interior scenes from this pack. Because of the high poly count they were not able to be prepared in Element 3D. Because of this, the Element version is only $40 instead of $50.
I’m excited to share our Technology Pack for Videocopilot Element 3D with you! This product was created by Remco van der Meer and converted to Element 3D by Vic Garcia. The pack has 49 technology themed models prepared for Element. Below are all of the included models. These renders were done straight out of After Effects:

My favorite C4D plugin just got better. DEM Earth released version 3.0 with tons of new updates.
There are tons and tons of updates in 3.0 as well, which I haven’t had time to review in a tutorial. You can find more details about the update on the launch page. If you’re ever in need of maps for infographics or motion graphics projects, this plugin is well worth the investment. Make sure to check out all the various DEM Earth renders on the launch page, they are absolutely incredible!
Simon Spencer-Harvey recorded this tutorial showing off the new features of DEM Earth:
Here is my tutorial on the previous version if you haven’t seen it yet. This video goes more in depth on DEM Earth.
