Cinema4D Tutorial: Project Splines Onto an Object

 

In this C4D tutorial I’ll show you how to use Spline Project to have your splines stick properly to an object that is not flat. It’s important if you want text or a spline based object to look like it belongs.

  1. This is great, Joren. Thank you. Far better than trying to “bend” the text spline manually!

    I had issues with my spline becoming corrupted after projecting it onto a curved surface. The issue was that there weren’t enough points on the spline for the projection to map correctly on the object’s surface.

    My solution was to highlight the text, then hit “Current State To Object”, which creates a copy of the text but with way more spline points. Mapping this new copy of the text spline to the surface gave the anticipated result.

    Putting this out here in case anyone else runs into the same problem 😉
